In converted my car to leafsprings, I splayed each spring 1 1/2" out of square(as recommended)... The front spring seperation distance is 3" less than the rear. My question is that the rear suspension now seams stiff, even with shocks unhooked. Should I straighten the springs out or go to a lighter rate leaf? Thanks

Make sure they are not binding up, if they are, you might try a rear slider mount.

we only spread them 1 1/2" total. found 3" put them in a bind. We used the weakest mono leaf spring. used ball bearing sliders on rear of springs. won lots of features with it.
