on an oem front end(camaro, imca mod, etc), ackerman adjustments are made by tie-rod lengths. for stock ackerman, both tie-rods are exactly the same length. this causes the inside tire ( whichever it my be) to turn slightly sharper than the other. by making the tie-rod that will be on the inside (the left side for us dirt trackers)longer, you lessen the ackerman effect, meaning the tires will turn the same amount, and vice -a versa. on high bank tracks, this is nearly useless as the left tires barely touch the track, but on slower, flat tracks, BIG effects on handling.
