Has anyone had experience (or opinion) running a 3.125" stroke with a 6.250" rod in a 350 or 400 chev block imca mod. Comments please.

Short strokes work well in mods, this is why the V-6's seem to work really well. The shorter the stroke, the more it will rev, allowing you to run more gear, but it won't have the bottom end power to roast the tires off the turn, which is exactly what you want. It will pick up well, but the torque range of the motor is moved up into the upper RPM range(like a V-6).
