Hello

Can some one explain the IMCA engine claim rule to me?

I have read the rules on www.imca.com & understand all about who can make a claim and the prices, fines, & consequences of a refusal.

I guess my question is can a driver claim a Ford engine if I run GM? I have been told that the driver that makes the claim has to run that engine the following week but I haven't seen that in writing anywhere. Is that true?

Yes, a driver can claim a Ford engine if he is running a GM. It doesn't matter who has what for engines. Everything is fair game.

There is no such rule on what engine the claimer has to run the following week.

There are a lot of politics involved in claiming and a lot of people claim for the wrong reasons as well as hold grudges.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.
So it is best to keep an extra engine lying around for that just in case.

Yes, if you can afford it then you can hopefully claim one back from the guy who claimed you or claim someone else if you choose to do so.

Where can someone find the rules, without being a IMCA member?

You have to purchase them from IMCA. I think they cost $13.00, or you can beg someone here to post them.
I have ordered a rule book from them this week, I asume it will be here next week.

Or you can get lucky & check various tracks websites. Some will have them listed.
I did find the IMCA stock car rules on the Ark-La-Tex Speedway website.

I'm not sure how accurate they are until I get my rule book, but it gives you something to go by.

Could somebody with the Hobby Stock IMCA rules please scan and post them on here? I am building a car to race on a non-imca track mainly, but i want it close enough to convert so i can race at a imca track too..maybe.

Lrt me guess Brett is IMCA,right? I get the picture now. IMCA really ***** for making you pay to get the specs now. I remember when you could go on there and check yourself. But racing is more "business" than anything else for some...GREED!,that's all....
