The question i have is, i understand the two top question for coil spring rates, but the bottom one i dont quite understand. how do you go about measureing the way its talking about? thanks

Measure from center of spring diameter on one side to the center of spring diameter on the opposite side. Another way to think about this is to measure outside of one side to the inside of the side of the coil spring. Most springs are either 5" or 5 1/2" unless it is a coil over spring. Hope this helps.

Thanks, it did. wasnt sure if i was doing it right or not.came up with numbers totaly different than what springs were supposed to be.

I had the same problem when I used the tool box calculator. If I remember correctly, I adjusted the number of active turns and got close to what was advertised (was told the springs were). Good luck.
