I recently purchased a used generator and was wanting to tune it up, clean it up, and change the oil, etc. I am wondering what oil to use after draining the old oil? I cannot find anywhere on the generator itself that says what to use for replacement oil. thanks in advance!

Most modern models use 10w30 if it is around 5hp. If the oil fill/check is at an angle on the side just fill it until it is level with the bottom of the fill hole. Keep an eye on the oil level if it does not have a low oil cut-off. The will consume oil with age.
