Hi nvracer. When chosing a winch take care. The box might read 20,000lbs pulling capacity but if you read the small print (if they tell you) you may find that this only applies to the first layer on a double line pull at 0 degrees angle with a free rolling load. By the time you put it on a 30 degree slope & onto your 3rd layer of cable you may find it is only capable of pulling 400lbs!! & then only have a duty cycle of 20 seconds pulling followed by 5 minutes for cooling! So check out the duty cycle. The winch I use by the way is a superwinch X9.
Marty.

I have a superwinch S3500 it works just fine with the stock car (3200lbs) but seems to have a hard time with anything much heavier. I tried pulling a fullsize Chevy 4X4 and it did not like that at all.

Superwinch 3500. It pulls my IMCA Stock car up steep ramps with no trouble. Best I've had. SLEEPY

Anyone with a weak winch. Hook a snatch block (pulley) to the front of your car, run your cable through it and hook the end of the cable to the front of your trailer. Now your winch is pulling half of the weight. The other half is pulling on the front of the trailer where you hooked the end of the cable. The car will move half as fast. (A snatch block is a pulley that will open on the side to allow a cable to be easily put in.) Every time you add another pulley and double your cable back again you reduce the pull on the winch by half again.

I have a Superwinch 3500 and 4500. Both work great. The 3500 came mounted in my new trailer so I am going to keep it there. The 4500 is for sale.

Used 1/2 season. Works great. $350 or best offer plus shipping.
