It depends alot on the brand of jack you have. But 99.99% of hyd. cylinders can be repacked. I suppose the easiest way is to take the entire cylinder in to a hydraulic shop and they'll match you up with the correct seal rings, packing set, and wiper seal. When you go back together with it, just remember that the "cups" are installed so that hyd. pressure forces them to the outside, just like a wheel cylinder. Sounds too easy but the piston ring or cup in alot of repack kits look like they could go in either way. Just don't drive over your knuckles........open your eyes!

Best to go to a hydraulic shop as some of the offshore hydraulic cylinders use odd sized o rings which are gonna be hard to find in a hardware store.
