i've raced front wheel drives 6 years and won tons of races and finally won the championship. but its time to move up. i got a spotless 87 cutlass and won a cage with the championship. as seen in the pic.my buddy won the championship in the hobbys this year and has shared some info. and i realize their is tons of info if i search in archives. my motor is going to be .40 over with 416 heads canadian intake with a good two barrel rochester . power is not an issue when the motor builder says i will have a 10 -10.5 to 1 ratio. the help i need is what do need to do to make this handle on 1/2 mile lightly banked clay rough surface. any help will be appreciated

you can ask 10 different people and you will get 10 different answers. The baseline that Racer17j gave will get you on the track then you will just have to adjust from there. Myself, I spring my car heavier. I use 1300rf,1100lf,300lr and 275rr. It's all in how the car works for you in your particular instance. Talk to as many people as you can that run in that class at your track and try to come up with a base setup and go from there

everyone's running 416s up here. for the amount of air your getting and the compression your increasing they put awesome power. 415s are little better but harder to find. everyone ran 882s and racing was equal then someone came up with the 416s and some head work and some block work and a good canadian intake. good carb. and the car was untouchable. it was 3/4 of a lap ahead at the end of 2nd place. now everyone runs them and its legal. you can't find many around up here any more. but anyways on shocks they make different kinds like easy up or down in easy terms any ideas where to put what or even all around

humps are illegal. and the way the figure the amount of air a two barrel puts out the 1.84 intake valve is good. and the 416 and 415 were on the camaros and monte 305's. they shave the heads shave the block and put wiseco protru pistons in flat tops and they run and all the shaving comes up as cleanup. perfectly legal power plant boy they sound good and they move. haven't seen another setup beat it yet but if you know of one let me know
