Any know how much lighter a 605 steering box is to a stock metric box?

I have also had people tell me these boxes have a weak worm gear, yet I see people use them all the time and have no problems with them. Are there different 605 boxes ones that have a better worm gear?

Also I got the body all hung on my hobby its a 85 grand prix, anyone know of a nose and tail pieces that fit good on them? I have tried a 03 grand prix and 88 monte both don't fit worth ****. I was think like a 95 regal or 95 grand prix.

I used to use the 605 box, but switched a couple years ago. The weight savings wasn't worth the reliability lost. Went thru one nearly every year.

If you do decide on the 605, get a reman'd one from Oreilly's. That way you can warranty it when (not if) it goes bad....

Thanks istock, Racer, the monte one DOES NOT FIT! The fenders on a grand prix are a lot different than a monte, I'm gonna go with a 95 grand prix.
