Our rules state you must run "Cast iron intake and exaust only"
So Ive been searching for a set of 2 1/2" rams horn exaust manifolds Off a old corvette. I have found alot of pricey items, nothing within my budget. I did find one that was cracked, which didn't bother me, and Ive found ALOT of 2" rams horn manifolds I can afford. BUT>>>
A fella that runs with us, pretty competative also, was B/S'in with me. I told him my manifold delemma, he told me that he ran a pair of 2 1/2"'s and cracked one, so he switched to a set of 2" he had aquired. He said he was making more power (not substantial, but he could feel it in the seat) with the 2". Now he switched to a log manifold (don't know why) and didn't notice any loss of power.
So this leads me to ask - fact or fiction? Am I pointless to seek the 2 1/2" over the 2" or am I wasting my time.
We race identical cars, and out 350s are VERY simalar ( ithink my pistons pop up a touch more - don't tell him though)
OH YA, when he went from 2 1/2 manifolds to 2" outlets, he also changed the exhaust from 2 1/2 to 2". He runs true dual exaust, I am going to build a colector to dump into 3"
Any insight is great!

a smaller longer pipe will make more torque shorter bigger pipes make more top end if your on a 3/8 or smaller the torque will be better and you wouldn't notice the top end change like if you ran a 1/2 mile. we run a 1/2 and a buddy of mine got the ported manifolds that dumped into a 3 in short pipe and he did notice a top end difference but one nite we bolth started on the front row and i pulled him 1/2 way down the shoot with my little 2 in with 2 1/4 pipes
