My local track has a wheelbase rule that makes it impossible to run a 3rd gen camaro/firebird.... considering how its getting harder and harder to find good parts for metric chassis and 2nd gens wouldnt it make sense to allow fresh blood into the class? plus make the cars appear more modern... or is there something about these cars that would give them an unfair advantage?

Find a front frame section from a 2nd gen and put it under it. Eddie

not allowed... they base their wheel base rule on factory specs.. it just doesnt make sense to me from a cost point of view... 3rd gens are a dime a dozen up here (Ontario, Canada)

They have a factory panhard bar and lift bar in a bushing.....They are being phased in in Mid Missouri.

can-am... just across the boarder allows them, im just planning on making the jump up to pro-stock (our version of street stock), and our track seems to be stuck in the past

That bites 23, I have seen some wicked fast Camaros built like that. Eddie

Can-am does allow them but the only part that any of us run there is the body. Our car is a 3rd gen body on 2nd gen frame. 100.7 car. Which track you run up in Canada? I believe BoS allows these cars.

BOS allows them wihin the rules, but iv never seen one up there (96") minimum... i race at brighton speedway, ministock right now but prolly street stock next year, so ill prolly end up racing at BOS so that i can run one, the way i look at it is the more modern you can get, the better the technology, the better it will work. plus i think they look kick ***
