Our tire rules have opened up a bit this year. They now let us run the dirt bozz tire also. We used to always run the emod tires. We could run all three compounds, D, A, or H. Is there any difference in the dirt bozz over the emod. I would think that the dirrt bozz would be better, but wondered about the compounds, are they the same or different. The Hoosier website does not explain well. And also, around here when we buya emod tire we give some money to UMP Mod point fund, and I run a street stock. NOT FAIR, so I was looking to run the dirt bozz tires, and ideas?

the block tread pattern of the bozz tire is much better all around wet to dry as for track surface. The construction of the bozz tire is a stiffer sidewall, this allows lower tire pressure without the tire getting too far out of shape and keeping a good foot print on the track. WISSOTA went to the emod a few years back, and in a modified we added 4 psi to the right rear, 3 psi to the left rear and right front, and added 2-3 psi to the left front.

Also, cutting the tire helps let some heat out and gives some edges without the tire chunking apart like the emod tires will if you cut on them.....
