depends on what kind of rim and offests you are using...mine and most others are cut out HUGELY and i roll mine so if body rubs wheel in corner it wont slice your $100 tire. easiest way to figre this out is to jack up your car, remove wheels and measure from flange. if you have 3" offset rims and run an 8" wheel, you'll be roughly 5+ inches past the hub....if that is beyond the outer most part of your wheel well which ims ure it will be, start CUTTING...

if you want it to be really nice looking, take a string and a pen tie it to your stud and make a circle around your opening...

i used 3/4" masking tape and made it to how i wanted it, then used an air nibble and made it look like it was factory...

but tha tis just because im anal and a body man..haha

**** i made my left side 1/4 this weekend..haha

cut it off, flattened it out FLAT, layed it ona piece of sheetmetal...traced it, cut it out, screwed it fast, trimmed, bent it to fit around the rocket etc.... actually looks a **** of a lot niceer than the busted up one that was on there

I used a jig saw this year and it worked out great. We marked a pencil line were we wanted to cut. To smooth it out we took a sandpaper grinding disc to it.
