Something, Obviously, is still not where it was. If the rear end has moved laterally from where it was, it may be putting the drivetrain in a bind and causing the tranny case to fail.
Another thing to check is if the engine mounts were broken or bent as well.
When you were repairing the damage did you install a solid transmission mount? Solid engine mounts and a stock rubber transmission mount is the way to go. Solid motor mounts and transmission mounts will cause breakage.

I think we got the rear end back in the same place. We used the factory bars.I have not checked the engine mounts, thanks that's a good idea. We put a rubber tranny mount in, a new drive shaft, new shocks, new u-joints.
The car did not have a cross memeber, so on the second tranny we put a cross member.
ANy other idea"s. Thanks!!

I know down in Paris speedway CA.they run a mount off of the motor bent along side of the tranny under neath and back to the motor with great results no cross member just the bracket from the motor. It really suports the weak glide cases. good luck.

I broke one case in a new chassis. It needed a driveshaft almost an inch longer that the previous car.

Check for a bent yoke if you are still using the same one as before also frame monts on cross member have seen both do it . check drive shaft also.
