I was looking at going to a street stock event in P.A. but they want me to make my car weight 3400 lbs because it is a leaf spring / square tube chassis. I ran it all year at my home track at 3000lbs. The other issue is that all of the coil cars at this event can weight 2800lbs. Do you think the 600lbs is going to be too much of a disadvantage for me to compete??

Not if you use the 600# to your advantage. Eddie

I don't think you can make up that much disadvantage. We just ran at EAMS and the Camaro's took a 100# penalty.

I am going to the Little Guy Nationals at Mercer Raceway Park. The website is:
http://www.mercerracewaypark.com/littleguyinfo.html

Currently my car already has the correct rear percentages, left side ect. based on the 3000lb rules of my home track. I have put the weight in the center of the chassis and I am going to try it. We have also added a 4 barrel carb and installed a little higher gear. Hopefully that will make up enough to keep us in the running.

Thanks md3. To be honest, I run at a track that is the same "D" shape, size and speed (South Buxton, Ontario, Canada). We also run on 10" wide American Racing Tires all year long. The only issue as I stated is the weight ruling. Other than that I should be able to compete quite well, I hope.

md3. I run at South Buxton Raceway in Ontario Canada. It is just outside of Chatham Ontario. The website is: www.southbuxtonraceway.com. I ended up the points champion of the street stock division this year. "JFYI"

As far as the P.A. race. Boy did they kick my **** . Adding 600 lbs is just to much when it come's to racing against 2800 lbs cars. I have never seen so many metric chassis's that could hook so good. At the track I run at "South Buxton" if you don't have a leaf car, you just don't keep up.

Md3, my car number is 82 in the sport stock class. By the way, I would like to see a picture of your car from Mercer. Also, I'd say about 3 or 4 cars rolled there this past weekend.
As far as Clifton Hights...I have never heard of it. What bridge are you crossing? I take it you don't mean the Ambassador Bridge.

I am from Central PA. I competed at the Little Guys Nationals, too. My car was strong but I just could not get it tightened up enough. I started on the pole for the B-main. I ended up 7th. Two years ago I won both of my heat races. Hopefully next year I will do a little better. I think my car needs updated, bad. It seems to flex too much. I will be doing some updating throughout the winter.

I am a memeber of the OH/PA Messageboard. Steelerdirtfreak is on there as well. My buddies wanted me to go Challenger's Fall Fest, but I am going to call it quits for the year. It needs to be scaled. I think it is way out of adjustment. I can't put anymore bite into it. I am out of room. I am in the process of building a garage at my house. Once it is done I will get strted on the car. I am going to another engine builder here in aobut a month, to get started on the new motor. Kip
