I say a flyer for a 2 or 3 day race at I believe Ned Houk Motorsports Complex in Clovis, NM for the weekend of oct 8th. The flyer said that Rt 66 speedway rules apply does anyone know where I can get a copy my friend e-mailed the promotor but hasn't heard anything back yet I found a web-site for Rt 66 speedway in Amarillo TX but there aren't and rules that I could find. I looking for both street syock and super stock rules. Any help would be appreciated.

Those are his business (Amarillo Off Road & Supply) numbers.

Our rules are fairly similar to common street stock rules. Engine wise 366 limit, stock or stock replacment heads, no porting (must be stamped S-R). We can run roller rockers, screw in studs, guide plates, NO girdles. We can run ANY HYDRAULIC cam, no lift or duration rules. Hydraulic lifters only, stock lifter bores, no mushroom or hyd. roller. Stock ignition (we all run HEI's) no ignition boxes of any kind. Cast iron dual plane intake only, no porting etc, no bowties etc etc. We CAN run carb spacers no taller than 1 inch. We also run holley 4-barrel VACUUM SECONDARY carbs. No mechanical secondaries. You can only remove the choke plate. Typical, flat top pistons, no lightweight cranks etc etc. We can run headers.

We can run tube bumpers front and back, front must be covered. We can run quick steer boxes. We run MAX 8 inch IMCA wheels, beadlock on right rear only. We can also run Hoosier scuffs MAX 10 inch wide (2045 ONLY) and groove them.

No weight jacks, or adjustable anything suspension wise. Everything has to be in stock location AS it came from the factory (no swapping control arms etc etc). No fabricated suspension parts of any kind. We can run 9-inch rearends, no floaters.

I believe that is pretty much out rules. Frame, cage, body is all pretty typical street stock stuff.

If ya need anymore info just call those numbers and they can tell you anything you want to know about the rules.

Thanks I'll give bill a call, just in case I get busy anyone know the super rules. Especially looking for if they have a cubic inch limit.

southern NM street stock rules
Stock passenger tires only.—MAXIMUM WIDTH 7 INCHES. Will use tire fork for tread, sidewall, wheel width.

· No mud, racing or fancy, exotic, trick gumball tires allowed.

· No siping or grooving allowed. No tire softeners.

· No racing wheels or mag wheels allowed. Spoke steel wheels allowed. All wheels must have a DOT number to be legal. Wheel must weight at least 21 lbs or more.

· Maximum 7-inch steel wheel.


· All cars must run a stock two (2) barrel carburetor, or #7448 350 CFM Holley. May remove choke, but no other alterations allowed. No adapter plate allowed, no four-barrel manifolds allowed, no spacer plate, 1 stock OEM carburetor gasket no more than ¼” thick.

· Pump gas only. 2000 TO 2005—all engines must meet specifications to be legal for competition.

· Engine specifications are as follows:

o 360 cubic inch displacement or less. Compression of 9.5 or less. 1 % error.

o Stock type, stamped rocker arms only. No roller tip rocker arms.

o Screw-in rocker arm studs are ok. 3/8 studs only with guide plates. No stud girdles of any kind. Polly locks are okay.

o Must have cast iron two-barrel intake. No alterations allowed. No acid dipping, no pressure porting, no alterations of any kind anywhere on intake.

Southern NM super rules
Unaltered cast iron blocks and heads, 23 degree valve angle only.

B. 360 cubic inch or smaller may run any 4-barrel carburetor. 361 cubic inch or larger must run a Holly #4412 two-barrel carburetor. (see specs below)

Carburetor specifications in inches:

Venture bore 1.380 okay
1.385 illegal
Booster Hole Inside .390 maximum
Outside .562 minimum
Base Plate 1.688 maximum
1.690 Illegal

I run super.
No CID limit, must fit through pit gate though.
flat top pistons
No angle plug heads
Cast iron head only
23 degree heads only
no roller cams
no msd or other brand ignition box
any intake i think is ok
gasoline only
8 " wheels, beadlocks ok
no racing tires, dot only - most run the hoosier dirt bozz.
8" spoiler
stock body or aluminum aftermarket is ok.

We'll thank for the replies. It dosen't look like We'll be going, I would be OK with the street rules but all my buddies I was going to go with run supper and we can run MSD boxes goodyear short tracks and angle heads so it just tooo much to change for one race.
