I'm building a IMCA stock car, it's a 83 regal and have to run a 15 x 8" wheel with American Racer G60 tires. What back spacing should I run on each corner? Keep in mind I do have a 60" wide floater rearend and run on a 3/8 mile track. Thanks for any help!

Oh boy.

It depends on your car, especially the track you run, set up, tire pressure,....

I run a high banked 4/10th track, mostly ends up dry slick (wet/tacky during heats) and my off's are (just MY settings)

LF 3"
LR 3"
RF 4"
RR 2" (bead lock)

Really this means diddly without knowing all the particulars. But, maybe a start. I run a GM metric, 85 regal frame, 60" ford rear, stagger is:

RF 83
RR 82 3/4
LF 81 1/4
LR 82 1/4

Tire pressures are:

RF 16
RR 14
LF 11
LR 11
American Racer G60 IMCA.

I run these pressures and off sets for heats and hots. Feature time I may change LR off to a 4" and add one pound pressure to right front to aid in left rear bite when the track gets dry slick. Nothing like traction.

I could go on more, but that's the jist for mine.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Race on.

How are you measuring those offsets? We usually measure our offset from the back spacing. If there is two inches of space from the back of the wheel to the center of the wheel that would be a 2" off. Are you doing the same?

I ask this because we have problems with our car being loose on entry with our car when we run a 3" offset on the right front and we are thinking of going to a 2" off.

instead of buying a new rim buy a 1" spacer for $20 from performance bodies...im sure u might be able to find them cheaper....

and then you can move it around the car if you need too

Imca stock car

78, what kind of temps do you get and air pressure growth. tonight my rr was 210 my lr was 146. my new rear springs were too stiff and I had no rr bite at all. rr grew from 14 lbs to 24 on a dry track, 25 lapper.

I run
3 inch on all 4 corners.

long studs off ebay for 54 bucks delivered.

1 inch spacers any place I want them whenever.

I also have a 2 inch spacer that I used last year but to bolt it on youve got to cut the end of the long studs off.

If I had a metric I would run 4 inch wheels and buy two 2 inch bolt on spacers and go that route.

Those seem very hot for tire temps to me. Our right rear never gets above 150 degrees. We usually run either 225/200 or 225/175 in the rear for springs. We also run 16 pousnds of air in our right rear at all times. Normally our rear temps are 110 left rear and 120 right rear.

107 151
145 202

We run 2 Camaros in the Thunder & Lighting class (Super Street at other tracks) at our local track. We used to run a 85 regal before the camaros. I do all the setup on both cars and the offsets i use are:
LF-3"
RF-2"
LR-3"-if i need to tighten it up just alittle i use a 2" on the LR
RR-2"-if i need to tighten it up just alittle
i use a 3" on the RR.
I hope this may help.
