Hey,
I Run 79 camero. Weight jack in front and leafsprings in rear.dry-slick track with medium banks(clay).1/4mile. We scaled the car and found the following..
LF:905/RF:801/LR:1001/RR:771..Total 3478lbs
Left%54.8/Rear%50.95/Wedge%51.81
I have 2-50lbs weight in rear left. One placed high and one low. I moved one high 50lbs from left to right high (above right tire). These are the numbers now..
LF:905/RF:801/LR:951/RR:821...3478Lbs total
lft%53.36/rear%50.95/wedge%50.37
Now should I loose the remaining left 50lb weight to help even out left side weight and help lower wedge even more?...or should I move 50lb from left to right side and place high?
Iam not sure. Iam new to racing and I would love to hear from you vets on the subject.
Thanks..Bill.......P.S. You can use the weight chassis setup calculator at http:/www.schoenfeldheaders.com/Chassissetup.htm

i would run the car first with the weights where you have them now and see how it is handling before moving them again.
to adjust your cross % (wedge) try using your adjusters on the front.

What is your minimum weight allowed in your class? In a camaro at you should be at about 54 rear at over 3400 pounds unless your car was poorly built. Do you have any weight in the front or extra stuff on the front of your car that could be lighter?

YA 3000lbs. The car is way over, but do to poor construction the weight has to stay as-is. Dont get me wrong the car seems to handle well enough, I just didnt know if lower wedge was a goal I should try for. Maybe I should leave the 50lbs where it is for the time.
Any more thoughts ...Speak up!
