I am moving to another state and the closest track is a 1/4 mile track. I currently run a 1/2 mile track (most of the time tacky). My questions are what things should I look at changing to run the new track?

I have a big bodied car, approximately 3450lbs. The wheel base is 114" on the left and 116" on the right. There is about 2 1/2 to 3" of stagger (front and rear). The springs are 1100lf, 1400rf, 250lr, and 225rr. Unsure of spring heights but frame measures around 3/4" differance front to rear. On 10" wheels with 3 off's everywhere except rr is a 2 off beadlock. Unsure of shock ratings also. Tire preasures are 9lf, 10lr, 13rr, and 16rf. I run a turbo 350 in second with a 4.11 (10 bolt) rear giving me a final of 6.22. %'s are 51.2 cross, 51.7 left, and 48 rear.
I was going to try to move the cage back, and shorten the frame to 108" to help with the rear%. I've cut every thing out of the car that I could to try and lighten it up but this is the best I could come up with.
Please help me out here. I really don't have alot of knowledge in chassis issues and I'm leaving all my budies around here. THANK YOU!

Well listen the best advice I can give ya in this situations is that if your car works good on a half mile it will work just as good where you are going if you can get your car to work on a half mile you really dont need to change a lot if anything to go to a short track other then gears and maybe a little more brain power to stay out of the wrecks LOL

Hey Iowa Dirt Track girl or any other. I tries a little more preasure last week like we have talked about and really it worked ok. We ran 25 on the rf 22 rr 20lr 18 lf. My ? is i had a new tire on the left rear for the B-main and the A main. We won the B main with ease 12 laps and then we spun in the A after 13 laps and started went out but the ? is. I was looking at the new tire on the left and it still has nibs in it you now the new look PS didnt now if i could write t.ts lol I was running like a 1 1/2 stagger in the rear but why was that left rear still looking so good. Do i need to move it out farther it was on a 4 off or do you think i need a little more left rear weight. The car eqauled its best times in the B-main just wondering about that tire.

And you all think that this ol dump Iowa girl or nebraske or where ever we reside at the time dont know nuthin LMAO

One thing that you didnt mention is that what was the track like was it still tacky or was it slick Iam betting that it was still a little tacky or you was running where it wasnt slick like on the bottom where there still was a bite

We have run the same left rear tires for 4 weeks before he!! sometimes our left rear and left front dont get changed unless we have to that isnt a bad thing the front tires is really kind of what you want feathered equally depending on the track and conditions

Well Girl it was tacky in the B-main and was going dry in the main and we couldnt get on it really because of traffic in the A main. But shouldnt there be some wear on that tire to know it is working or do we really just use the right tire and the left is there for height and support. I liked the car at 25 rr and 20 lr Thats up 5lbs. over what we have ever run and it acted fine and tires looked good. Might be eating some words about this tire preasure when this is all done from what i have seen so far. Maybe i will hit on something no one is doing hear and kick there behind. Most people hear never run over 20 lbs. even with radials and no beadlocks. Ok i went this week we are going 25 lf 25 rr 18lf 20 lr last week we had weight in the middle of car well some of it we can move it real easy. I basically use a 45 lb. weight that i can move across from left to right...... never tried it on the right yet with a dry slick but from what i have read maybe i should and if so please tell me why. Thanks Iowa Girl very much

Steve let me add a little in site in this

When you add your weight on the left side to make the car tighter comming off htat is where you get your speed going down the straights you can get on the gas quicker and stay on it longer then most

When you add it to hte right side (low) it will loosen you up BUT if you add it higher up to give the car more roll it can tighten you up hope your follwing me here!

Hey you should come to Boone IA the 4th of september for the super nationals
