My 81 cutlass with a factory chevy 305 has aluminum hood. The car has had body work dont to it in its street life so I am not sure if it is original tho. I gutted it out but left all the bracing on the edges and have put a fiberglass cowl induction on it and it looks awesome and is still pretty strong......but then again I am using the stock hinges cuz...in the shop and in the pits I am a one man band so it makes it easier for me.

A hood that I know was made of aluminum was the big metric cars (1985-87 Oldsmobile Delta 98). I cut one up one time for my 74 Chevelle.

go to a s****yard and look at the early metric cutlass's. I went to a local you-pull-it and found aluminum hoods and trunks on about 1 out of 5.
