What's the difference between these 2, anyone know? I never heard of a MarkVIII chassis until I saw this car at the track. I assumed it was a crown vic ford but he said it was a MarkVIII. It does very well.

Thanks

The mark VIII chassis is very similar to the t-bird chassis.

How does the independant rear work out? Isn't that expensive on axles?

People say it has a Camaro front clip on it, but you know how that goes.

A mark VIII appears to be a uni body car. The 4 J is not a uni body. People say it has a Camaro clip, but you know how talk at a race track goes.

actually the car in the picture is a thunderbird the Mark III is similiar bur windows in quarters are different and trunk has the spare tire hump it looks like this one is on a frame also , probably a crown vic the crown vic chassis has front end geometry that is almost identicle to the second generation camaro and they have a rear 4 link very similiar to the metric gm

Man, that is a good lookin' car, I really like that... Where's the track at and what class is that running?

I thought about tryin' to build an 87 or 88 Cougar just 'cause I like the way the bodies look, but I'd want a real frame and we have a 108" wheelbase requirement for the Factory Stocks here.

The Lincoln Mark VIII was also interesting, and I bet it could be set up to handle like nobody's business with that independent rear suspension -- but that's totally not legal around here either.

Yes this car does have a T-bird body but
that is just a skin. The chassis is full frame.

Car races in the street stock class at
www.bedfordspeedway.com www.therockspeedway.com and I'm not sure where else.

I've heard before that the Crown vic and lincoln chassis were based off the same platform from Ford, but I'm not really sure.
That's why I was asking.

Thanks

the Crown vic , the Mercury Grand Marquis and the Lincoln Town car are all based on the same chassis while the T bird and Mark VIII are unitized / no frame
