We'll start with fuel pressure. I installed a high dollar holley fuel pump with 1/2" fuel line in and out. It won't even fill up the clear plastic filter, but the car will run and SLOWLY run out of gas. No pressure pumping and pulling on either side. Put in a stock fuel pump and still have the same problem. After installing the stock fuel pump, I was looking at the gauge's and the oil pressure dropped to around 18-20 psi. I don't remember it being that low at idle before. When I gas it, it goes up quick, and when it return's to idle, it is at 18-20 psi.

Not sure on the oil pressure. I think there is more info needed for that. On the fuel pressure it may be a couple of things. If the gas tank is not vented or the vent is plugged that could be it or do you have the fuel filter on backwards or is the gas line sucking shut.. just a couple of things to check.. good luck

The tank is vented and the line's not sucking shut. I put my finger over the inlet tube on the fuel pump and cranked the engine and there is no very little pressure. When I had the holley pump on. I had 1/2 " line from the cell to to the carb line. With the stock pump, I have 1/2" reduced to 3/8" line before the pump to the carb. Is there different lenght fuel pump rod's?

was the holley a mech or elec. pump?

one other thing to consider is that both pumps have the same problem so that would stand to leave the line, the pick-up or maybe both pumps are bad

as for the oil pressure check that the oil isn't over ridden with fuel rah could be your low pressure problem

drive hard or drive home

If your fuel pump is bad it may be leaking fuel into the motor, does the oil smell gasey?
