Hey guys, we went with 3.42 gears in our Hobby Stock and am only pulling 4200 rpm and would like to get to about 5000. We race on a small quarter mile track and I have a 7.5 10 bolt rear end. I'm thinking some 3.73's will get me to 5000 but does anyone know what year and style of vehicle the 3.73 gears came in? We won the first race with the 3.42's but I know it can be better.

Check S-10 pickups and camaro/firebirds. Otherwise there is usually some on ebay for sale too.

80 up has the 7.5 rear astro vans also. I think 95 up just has an ABS ring on them but thay should still work.

Contact me I have a few sets for sale.
But if you want to get some, check monte ss's and s-10 pickups (With 4cylinders)
Also check ebay. You can also change your tranny if you are using a saginaw. Try a 3 ringer with those 3.42's, should bump up your r's quite a bit

be wary of the 373 gears and the three ringer
saginaw. that ratio is tough on the 2nd gear set. We broke three trans last year till we changed to the muncie three speed.
