I have a Tilton Mini Starter and a light weight flex plate. The starter drive sticks in the flywheel and won't come out. I have even put shims in to try to help but it sticks just as bad. Anyone ever had this prob? Thanks

you more than likely do not have it shimmed right. take a coat hanger straighten it out. and you want it to slip in between the teeth of the starter and the flywheel. it ussally takes 1 full shim, and one folded in half on the inside bolt..

Thanks I never thought of just shimming the inside bolt.

I've seen this become a problem with the permenant magnet type's. Slow to retract or not at all.

It's more than likely your starter. I had the same problem with my mini this year, I tried it all every trick in the book for shimming but to no avail. it wasn't that I didn't have it shimmed right the **** thing was dragging especially when it got hot. A new starter did the trick since then hot or cold she starts right up.
