at my track the rules are slim to none . the guy that wins every week has a camaro with tube chasis and coil over shocks all the way around. so if i cant beat him im gonna join him.found a 96 barry wright with quick change ready to race minus motot tranny for 1000 bucks. was gonna hang a camaro body on it, but the car is a leaf car ,but it also has coil over shocks in the rear also ive never seen a car with both. also has a weird shock up around driver compatment. any ever run anything like this and if so is it any good.

The leafs on the rear are used to locate the rear end, not to suspend the chassis. They are probably around 50# rated springs. The coilovers on the rear shocks are what actually suspend the car. It's a very cool set up. The shock near the drives compartment is on the torque arm "fifth coil" It's a device that changes the torque generated by the motor at the rear wheels to a lifting device. As the back tires get bite that arm lifts the car and plants the rear of the chassis. Again very cool.
This is an old school late model. The newer desins are much better as they (4 bar) create much more rear bite and rear steer. Ever notice the pix of the SLM's where the left rear tire looks like it's three feet away from the bottom of tha car? That's a 4 bar at work.
For your application I would think the B.W. will be the ticket!
How about anupdate on your "sponsor" deal?

thats funny. the sponser is in my right hip pocket. but for 1000 dollars that sounds like a good deal to me . i figure the rear end is worth that much.

Hey dude--my bad! It was Odb 93 that had the carsponsorship.com thread. He was supposed to get some graphics and some rims and a system for his metric street stock...you can catch that thread on "sponsors looking" It'll be good for a laff or two.
