I told a good friend who races late models and is very fast that my street stock was wicked loose coming out of the turns(and its not because of my right foot) He ask spring rates, stagger, weight, tire pressure, all the basic questions he told me to change my front springs to RF1000 and LF1100 that is not a mis print, from what I've alway been told this is wrong I ask him laughably 3 differernt times if that was right. What would be your reasons for this?

That should make the car more loose on entry and through the middle. The stiffer LF spring removes cross dynamically as the front springs compress.

my front springs are 1250lf 1050rf the car handles great for the heat race and half of the main. then it starts to push, i cant tell you why but thats the way mine is. a lot of people on here tell me to swap them but it seems noone can tell me why, or how the car will react to the change. so i guess ill leave them backwards until i can get some reasons or till i get another play day cause i am 3rd in points and cant afford a really bad night.

LOL this will be fun to answer

OK you guys have you all ever at night laying in bed ever thought what the car is doing and where you may think that its doing what you say but is it really doing what you think its doing
What I mean is on trynmods post he said that hes car was wicked loose comming out of the corner I will bet you a dollar that his car is so tight that in the middle of the corner he is correcting the car so much that he is getting loose so next week when you go in the corner drive it in like you normally would and if its pushing in the middle during hot laps LEAVE IT ALONE becasue come feature time it will be right on and if it pushes bad in the heat just drive it in deeper

OK bubba you are wondering why your car is pushing in the middle of the turn halfway through the feature if you think about it its clear as day you are over working the rf with the soft rf spring and you are loosing grip casue the tire is getting hot so really the car is not pushing you just donot have enough rf grip to keep that thing glued to the track when it come middle of the feature and ill bet you that the reason that it dont during the heat is casue its tacky and your not over working the rf and the car would feel good to casue that heavy left front puts more weight on the rr giving it really good bite when its tacky

The reason your car is pushing half way through the race is because your left front spring is too stiff causing the car to not want to get on the left front going into the corner and through the middle. Then as you start to come off that big left front really pushes over on the right rear and causes the car to want to push more. I would go to a 1150/1050 (lf/rf) and I bet that the car will not go away nearly as much.

I would not swap your front springs becaue that will take away your side bite. I would just lower your left front spring.

I just saw the tape from my last race and it doesnt look like Im over correcting the front wheels as far as steering goes. I do not throw the car in the turn like most drivers I pretty much drive it in hard then ease into the gas. So it may be tight going in I just dont realize it. Any reason why I should'nt swap the front springs.

LOL Iam glad that iam on this forum cause the opinons that I get cause IAM a girl really kill me boys I have done a ton of reading plus we have been racing for almost 15yrs so if I do get stuck on a answer I ask my hubby but for the most part The things that I post are from past racing experiance or is something that we have tryed or listening to the guys in the shop we have all kinds of resourses here.

Bubba do me a favor and switch them front springs you will find that the car will handle way better and it wont get over on the rf as bad the stiffer the rf the harder you can drive it in (to a point) and also the quickerr it gets back on the lr when you get on the gas makeing the car drive off the left rear more wich is good on a slick track

Some of the reason that guys run a stiffer left front spring is cause they have a ton of horsepower and need to keep the left front planted casue they pick it up this is why mods do this plus they have rear steer

Bubba this also switch the front springs and get your frame heights about 8inch on the lf and 8 1/2 on the rf 9 on the rr and 8 3/4 on the lr now put your 2inch off on the front and a 4 on the rr and 3 1/2 on the lr give that a honest try and i will bet you a lap dance that you will love it LOL

the frame heights that you talk about would be a big change as now they are lf-6 rf-7 lr-7 rr-8 also i run 3 inch offsets all the way around and all my spares are 3 inch also, i bought them that way, and try to set up the car to run them so that i dont have to worry about diffrent rims for diffrent corners of the car. and if it matters this is not a metric car it is a 72 chevelle (coil spring car). Last night i tries lf-1050 rf-1050 and the car felt pretty loose but very much driveable for the whole race, but the track was very dusty because the guy that normally wets the track on saturdays was not there, his dad was in the hospital (I wish him well) and he didnt bother to tell anyone he would not be there so when i heard about it at 4:00 yesterday i went and put some water down but it was nowhere enough and dried out quick and and was sandy even before the heat races i think that is why it was so loose. What do you think????
