I would say 353's or 373's depending on your tire roll out and how big that 3/8's really is. At my track 373's turing about 6500 rpms with a 86 roll out.

First of all what is the glide gear ratio? 1.76-8 cyl or 1.82-6 cyl? Second of all some 3/8 mile tracks will take more gear than some 1/3 mile tracks. so a 1.82 with a 373 is a good place to start.

I run a powerglide on a 3/8 track. I have high gear removed and run it in low. Rear ratio is 3:73 with a Detroit Locker. Usually turn it 6000-6500.
