I never bother with it. I mount my own tires at home.
I figure the mud chunks sticking to the wheel would negate any balancing efforts anyway.
Plus less stuff to fall off and cut a tire down.

We don't balance our tires. We are not allowed to use wheel weights eathier. I guess if they came off with a little rub it could be just like a bullet flying with the rpms were at.

Well we balance ares all the time and we mount weight on inside but one of are sponsors is a tire shop and and can do as i want there.A unbalanced tire can bounce and loose traction and even though you get a little mud you can wipe hat off between heats. I guess its up to the driver and the rules.

As long as you finish the race with all four tires, I would consider that balanced.

"As long as you finish the race with all four tires, I would consider that balanced."

After the luck I had last year, I would consider that a victory in and of itself.
