462 heads no acc holes, got the van bracket that mounts to the block and one exhaust bolt, but with it my pump is way down touching the pitman arm and in the way of the draglink...what is the problem? ive read on here several people sayin that the van bracket solved there problem, i must have gotten the wrong one, this one came off of a 83 gmc with a 305

had the same prob with my metric, my motor is mounted really low, i use a pump from a mid 80s v6 grand prix, i just had to slot the holes on the bracket at the block and move the exhaust bolt mounting lower. works fine

The brackets Ive always used are the ones that came on say 69 Chevelles, and cars tpical to them, they had the bracket that pivots on the water pump and one bracket off the exhaust, only problem is running the right water pump, dont know if they make aluminum in this syle..Jim

i moved the bracket up and cut part of it off and welded the part that i cut off to another part (sorry for all the part words) and bolted the part that i cut off to the first header bolt and it makes a good stiff power steering bracket!!!!

just out of curioisty, would a longer fan belt allow the pump to move up and out of the way?

i have no holes in my heads to mount brackets to so thats why i was needing a block mount bracket, the way i fixed it was easy, i just had to think for a minute or two before i got it figured out
