when figuring your pinion angle doesnt the angle of the driveshaft have to be tooken into concideration too ? was just wandering

no the pinon only matters on the angle. unless you have modifyed the engine trans angle. when you stand on it the rear gives causing more pinion creating more forward bite.

Hi 66, You are correct,There is more involved than just the angle of the pinion, at least by SAE standards.......

However, Racers do not use that method. When racers refer to thier pinion angle, they are refering to the angle of the pinion only.

You will probably want about 5 or 6 for a metric and around 8 for a leaf car.
