I was wondering if any of you guys/gals have run a setup that draws air for the radiator from under the nose?I want to try to leave the nose solid and with ductwork and a good shroud/fan combo pull the air from under the front end.most of the prostocks at my track dont have any cutouts in the nose and run 20-30 lap races with no problems. The only diff cooling systemwise between pro and streetstock is the pro can use aluminum radiators we have to use copper/brass and pro can use an aluminum crank reduction pulley.I have a good stewart water pump a high pitch 4 blade fan and a four core griffin radiator so far.I am working with a 350 chevy .030 over with 492 heads and 2bbl intake and carb. What do ya thind will it work or what can I do to make it work?

I run my superstock with a sealed up nose. no opening for air- or mud - to get in. Car runs 190 - 200 at the end of a feature in August.
I run a 31 inch wide griffin radiator, good ducting that forces all of the air through the radiator, - and just as important - easy escape route for air to exit the engine bay.
I run a 4 inch deep piece of plastic under the width of the radiator to scoop up air.

I have run the plastic noses before and when you have to replace one every other race they get expensive.

I dont run a nose at all no more just the mesh type screen and man do I have extra money at the end of season.

Looks do not make one any faster for sure.

Instead of Plastic ask a sprint car guy for a used up right rear(they throw them away daily) cut the sides off of it and there you go it doesnt tear as easy as the plastic but does the same job.

Take an aluminium radiator and some black spray paint and you have a stock radiator, Burry it in to a shroud on one side and some massive duct work on the front and non will be the wiser. The other issue is keeping the air out of the system. Bleeding the system and keeping it full.

Don't forget to run 1 to 1 pulleys and no restrictor.
