Speedway65 suggested Moog K6136 upper and K6117 lower. The upper bolts in and might work, but the lower won't fit.
Anyone familiar with K6141? Will it work on the lower?
I'm trying to find the correct upper and lower extended ball joints.

you have to hammer the hole smaller for that lower and then tack weld it in.

the uppers bend too easy, I ran pavement where contact was a lot less and quit useing them.

Thank you Speedway65. Anyone else have any experience or suggestions? I'm installing weight jacks and remounting the shocks, so I thought about using these ball joints to lower the car. Anyone familiar with the #K6141 lower?

Istock66-besides the press fit, the taper for the K6117 is also too big for the spindle. I know that it can be reamed, but I was looking for a "bolt in deal".

go to howe racings website. they have the presision ball joints...very nice pieces!! you can get them in a bunch of configurations and with stud lengths up to 1/2 longer. they are also much tougher than stock.

ok I looked it up for you, 6141 sounded familiar but its been 3 years since I used these. thats not correct.

k6117 is the one that is 3/8 longer and smaller od than your a arm...

you can just drill or file the spindle a little to get it to fit it doesnt take much and just at the top from what I remember. the 6141 and the 6145 are supposed to be the same taper. I also had to run washers on mine to get the nut tight.

its 3\8 longer.

the 6141 is not any longer than stock its a stock impala bj, which fits the larger hole of a impala lower.

Thanks Istock66/Stockcar5. I will check those numbers out and Howe's website and see what I come up with.
Anyone else have any experience with what I am trying to do?

There is a sleeve that can be pressed onto the smaller diameter tall ball joint that will allow it to be pressed into the lower a frame hole. Can't remember where I saw it though. Maybe UBmachine or Southwest Speed. I'll see if I can find it. You still need to ream the spindle though.

Here is a good ball joint chart ( http://www.drtchassis.com/balljoints.html ) with Moog and AFCO numbers.

Good luck,
Superdave

Dave,

lefthander sells those.

they dont make one for his application. he would have to switch to 71-76 impala lower arm which have a 2.190 hole.

the k6117 has a od of 1.975.

a camaro lower od is 2.090

hammering the little lip a little and tack welding them in on the top in two places maybe half inch each is sufficient.
