Had a question from one of my customers that I can't answer because of a lack of experience.
In our Super Trucks most guys run a 3 speed saginaw in second gear and multiply through the rearend. Such as 1.68 x 3.73 = 6.28. So our final ratio is 6.28.
Now we can run a floater, so my question is will there be any RPM change if we change to 6.30 rear gear and run in third through the tranny?
My thinking is that we will pick up a little RPM because now we are not losing anything along the drive line mulitiplication issue. We all run on the Goodyear short track special, 28" tall tire. All things remaining the same except the changes above, what do you think?
