Our rules mandate a 107.5 inch minimum wheelbase. I am thinking of switching to Ford. Was thinking about a T-Bird, but early 80's t-Birds are 104 long, the later 'Birds are 113 long. How will the longer wheelbase affect handling vs. Chevy Metric frame? Are there any Fords that are closer to the 107.5 inch wheelbase? We can run unibodies if both ends are tied together. A little help over here, please.

i worked for a guy a couple years ago that built a ford. he took a thunderbird body and put it on an ltd frame. i'm not sure completely how it was done, he paid someone else to do it, but i'm pretty sure it was alot of work.

make sure your rules say you can alter the frame.same **** happened to melast year I ran leagal for 3 years then got tossed because the frame was shorter than what come from the factory.Or mainly due to the whiners that I was smokin.

hee hee akadirtracer7. We can alter a frame to match body wheelbase, make to make etc. So what difference in handling will the longer wheelbase (113 inch) t-bird make compared to the 107.5 wheelbase cars (which I have right now)?

Akadirtracer7: Is that a 77 ltd II body at 109 or the frame at 109? If it was the frame what body? We run on a 1/3 mi. that goes dry-slick 9/10s of the time.

Mike9: You tryin to say something?

hjoe: yours is a T-bird? What year? I thought t-birds had a wheelbase of 104 or 113, depending on the year. I suppose Merc Cougars have the same chassis as the t-birds.
