I never could get a turbo 350 to work right. My advice is to drop it and get yerself a powerglide. You'll be glad you did.

Hey Jt54. If I read your post correctly, your putting a 350 turbo in the car to simplify it for your kids. If you don't want it to down shift it won't be easy. You definitely have to leave the detent cable, or kickdown cable disconnected. The modulator will let the transmission down shift as well. You'll have to get an adjustable module. Adjust the screw to vary the shift points, or you can leave the module disconnected all together. If you do that you'll have to manually shift from 1st to 3rd, maybe not so easy for the kids. Hope this information will help.

Thanks ,Iwill have to do some talking with the local trans shops .....I think I can get a power glide also.

The powerglide trans is your best bet if your running an automatic. If your rules allow you should run it with a direct drive coupler.
