Can anyone tell me what had the fastest stock steering box. Or what the better fast stock boxes are out there that will work in a Monte Carlo.

The IROC's have a steering box that alot of people are replacing on their metric cars. Not sure of the ratio but I know its faster.Suppose to bolt right up in same spot.If I ever come across one we will give it a try

Well there are a couple of different ways to look at this
1. you can get a Camaro Z28 steering box that will bolt right onto a metric car or
2. you can order a stock appering steering box and order the ratio that you want BUT you are going to spend somewheres in the range of 400 dollars to get that
One good thing is that they cant take that away from you (claiming wise) so if you can afford the extra money then go for it
remmember that the more control you have over your steering the smother your car will be

I did some more research and answered my own question. Here is what I came up with. The "best" GM steering box made was the "WS6 Box". 12.7:1 ratio. If you all want some great reading and what swaps well with what info check this link out.

Lares 971 You'll have to buy a larger splined sleeve and weld it to the steering u-joint youo are using now, as the input shaft is larger. This box has a lifetime warranty and they , as per my experience, honor it--no questions asked!

WS6 Trans Am 12:7 is the fastest BOP ever used. 12:1 constant ratio came in Iroc Z's. And some very limited RPO's

I am looking for one too. I have been told that if you find a late eighties/90 camaro or firebird with 16" wheels it will have a 12.7 box.
