i run 80 camaro at r.t.66 motor speedway in amarillo T.X. i have run camaro all over the state, and set up many cars for friend's.you need to set up the spring's as a base line.some time's you can talk to guy's that run in your class.(the front runner's)they will most of the time tell you the truth about where to start with spring rate's.it will depend on what weight(total weight of car) On where to start. So you need to have an idea.be sure when you install the leaf spring's to square the rear end(wheel base the same on both sides)Or it will be inconstent handeling in the corner's .You will need to find some one that will scale your car.Check ride highth. You need to start tire pressure at about 15# on the scales.
try to see what the corner wieght's are at straight 15# of air in all tires. Then you can play with the pressure's to effect cross weight %.Use only spring shim's or wieght jacks(or)tire pressure too effect cross weight changes. If you have to runstock type rims you will need to up tire pressure's.If you are the only camro guy let me know the wieght of your car and i can help you with the spring rates, cross%,rear dist.,left % so on
