Ok I have never used or really never noticed the way weight jacks are intalled in the rear of car. I am looking at a speedway book and I see steel weight jacks looks like it has a plate, a rod, and a nut. How do they install do you weld the nut in place on top of springs top plate. If so is there real advantage over the hidden adustable sping shims I run now other than not getting under the car to turn them? Thanks all I just dont want to waste my money on something that I might already have working just has good.

The hidden weight jack does the same thing as the regular type. It just makes adjustments easier. You are correct about how it mounts. They are usually 1" coarse thread, so just use a regular 1" nut.
