no IMCA is making it easier for TC.
hei needs 12 plus volts. a msd box can work at 10 volts.
of course the msd will die some sooner than others.

Is the NO alternator rule for both I-stocks and hobbies? I had originally heard that is was just for hobbies.
It seems this would make more people go to using a msd box and thus much easier for traction control.
I ran an alternator all year with no problems and guess now I will be buying a battery charger.

i have run a hei distributor (dui) for a few years with no alternator and never had a problem. i have tested battery draw with my msd box vs hei and the hei draws 3 amps at idle and the box draws 9. this was with nothing else on....just ignition.
