I have a 76 Monte Carlo and am wondering if I could install a different body such as a Caprice or other modles like a Buick or Pontiac in the late 70's or early 80's? Has anyone tried this before? The Monte Carlos are getting hard to find, and these other cars most of the time have less rust. Thanks.

I don't see why not. I've seen this done with your frame and a "metric" monte carlo body. Just get whatever body you want to run on it and set it down over the chassis, you may have to cut things here and there and I'm pretty sure you'll have to make some supports in spots. I haven't done it myself but, you can do anything, all you've got to do is be creative. You could put a 1970 Maverick body on it if you wanted to. LOL!!!!

I put a 81 Camaro Z-28 body on my 72 Chevelle frame this year with Chevelle body parts getting to hard to find!!! Looked pretty good too.

This is a mid 70's monte with a 88 cutlass body on it. It took some time but it can be done!

This is what it looked like the year before. They changed the rules to no aftermarket bodies!
