Anyone ever bought a roll cage/car from a front/rear wrecked metric street stock to put in another car? If the cage is okay, what's it worth?

you can buy a new 4 post cage for 250 so why pay 200 for one that is used unless you don't have the time to weld the new one or the capability

just a thought

iowatoolman has a very good point I wouldn't see a problem buying a car that is bent and comes with more than just the frame and cage a bent roller is worth 200 and then you have extras

that is ok i hace to trust my life in that cage and i am not going to trust some farmer or backyard welder to weld my cage LOL but do what you want i was just saying that seems like alot of money for a used cage

i have a great welder on my pitcrew
if the signs 100 feet in the air are still standing than my cage will hold up to LOL

You can try http://www.rlms.com/html/midsize.shtml
I used one of these in a 77 monte carlo and it did a great job. It is still good after hitting the wall going into turn 3 at over 100 mph. Going to put it into a 85 monte for next year, just got to cut it down a bit.

If you know the history of the car, go for a used cage. I paid $100 for mine. If it's more than that, it had better be mint! And if you are short on time, a mint, $200 roll cage might be the way to go.
