I did a search on direct drive glides and in one of the threads( cant remember which one now) someone mentioned that they locked one of the valves ao that it was manual shift only now. is this possible?
Im going to go with the old ball valve and a coupler. the reason I was wondering about converting it to manual shift is because if I could, I would rather get it moving in high and then drop it in low(tranny is raced in low). I figure then im not abusing the low gear band all the time.
Thanks
Nick

Oh and Ryan, dont worry it will still have the stock converter in the tranny. Kinda. They are going to love this one.

C'mon give up the secret. I probably still run the ole' dependable t-350 after switching jobs my racing money went swirling down the pot. Still need to see that tape of you in my car some day. Going to the banquet?

about 10 min with the majic wand and it will have a fully nonfunctional factory stock tourq converter installed in the stock location(not bolted in the trunk-haha). just wait, you will get to see it soon enough.
As far as the banquet goes im going to skip it. had better things to do with my $30.

I used a nut to block the 1-2 shift valve in the 'shift position' Then all shifts come from the manual valve. It works good and it is free! I also removed the governor and plugged the passages to it in the governor housing.
