i run my car for the first time last night and it only ran around 170 deg,s the whole night. i'm running a camaro with a 19x32 aluminum radiator can anybody tell me why it might be running so cool , i know about everybody has overheating problems i'm having opposite . it is taking orespower from my car can anybody help......

i planed on blocking off some holes on the nose piece if that will help

Run a stat. Not sure why everyone on this board is so scared of tstats. If you design you cooling system correctly, a tstat will work just fine. It will also help it warm up in the pits a ton faster.

If you're scared of it failing and cooking the motor, there's a brand called "Fail Safe" that fails wide open in stead of closed. It worth the extra $5.

I agree with the stat theory. We are running a 180 degree stat with a 13/64th hole drilled in the flange. Never got over 185 degrees so we are thinking a 195 stat for next year. Secondly, if you had new plugs in it for the first night check them for color. You may be jetted way too fat. That will cause you to run cooler. Let us know what you try and how it worked.

i use a 180 thermostat. 200 degrees after feature.
