We went for our season champ race last night. All year we have had to start 5th and 6th row because we had a high point average ,we invert form our heats, top 12 cars and we start in the back of our heats . The last night we are lined up by points we had the points won no matter what and had 9 feature wins . The promoter comes and wants us to start in the back and says he will pay us an extra hundred dollars if we can win . but if we didn't win we only got what we placed . I said NO WAY if he wasn't going to give us the money no matter where we finished. We won the race but the last three laps I had to have my driver move down and take the second place drivers line or we would have been second. It was a great race and we all had fun. WOULD YOU HAVE STARTED IN THE BACK ?????????~~~~~~

No, I wouldn't have started in the back, too many crazy folks back there, haha. You have a greater chance of wrecking in the back. But, I have seen someone start from the back and win, out of a good many cars too! I guess it just depends on how good of a car you have, and how confident you are in yourself. (or how cocky you are - hahaha)

Our track redraws top 15 from the heats every week. You might have to work thru the idiots every could be 1st in points and start 15th.

Alomst every time we start in the back we get into someone elses accident and get tore up. We start up front we finish up front.

the tracks around here start you by inverted points average so if your fast your starting in the back. the worst drivers atart up front everyweek if you avoid the mess you usually finish pretty well. We've had a low car count so it hasent been too bad however to finish first first you muct finish.

Great job on another championship! How are those glides working? Isn't it interesting how the track wants to start the leaders up front on champ night to "reward them for supporting the track all season" then when someone has a stellar season they want to change the rules and you to start behind ALL the woodchucks to help out their show. You did exactly what I would have done. Call me sometime, I obviously need your setup advice.

We have 8 feature wins this season and over half have been from the pole. the others have been from the rear. Its scary statin back there but its what racins all about, competing against other drivers. This sounds concieted but its boring up front with no one to race but yourself. Theres nothing like seein that hole and cuttin thru it.

A couple of weeks ago we ran double features. In the 1st feature we started 4 and won.The second features starting was determined from a random draw by our driver. He drew 13 which means we started 13th and we went on to win the 2nd one also.It was by far the most exciting racing in our division all year. Our driver prefers to start towards the back,he says it makes it much more rewarding!I think he's nuts!!

i would have started at the tail... its an extra hundred bux so the pay must not be that much in the first place
in the modified we always liked taking the "challenge" but it was for an extra five hundred
we won it twice and got second a couple times

i would have not raced at all. with the championship in the bag and a car still in good condition, why bother. the only thing to gain would be the petty money most tracks give out and the worst case scenario you go home torn up and possibly hurt.i only race when there is something to gain from it. i guess that comes from winning a lot and losing that rush when you do win. of course there have been times where i started last just to have some fun but not under those conditions.congratulations on your championship.

if he was looking for a good show out of it i would of made him pay more the better you finish the more you get you sound like you were good enough to move up quickly and have a good sense to stay out of trouble. how many laps? our season fianlly is sat the 25 100 laps but points are done ended up 4th 0 wins out of roughly 40 cars
