How can I check to see if my rearend housing is bent? It is out of the car and one axle is bent bad. I suspect it has been tweeked for awile because I've had trouble keeping right side seals in it.

With the rear already out this is easier. - Put the wheels/tires on both sides. - Put the tires inside some old wheels, up on blocks, whatever...you are making clearance for the pinon snout to rotate - Block the pinion yoke at a level position - Measure from a line scribed on tire front and rear - just like measuring toe - Rotate the whole axle housing so that the pinion yoke is now facing vertical position - Measure toe again - do this at 90 degree increments, if the tubes are not square the measurements will change. I got this from Duke Southard's video tape series, he shows how you can heat and cool small areas on the tube to pull minor tweaks back to straight.
