would reducing the wheel base of a metric car by about 2" help it any. ive always been told that a shorter car will corner better than a long car. is this true.

shorten the left side a bit should do exactly that.

make sure your rules allow you to cut the wheel base down..........later

i was thinking the same thing. for next year we were talking about shorting one down to 103" and running a grand am or calais body. how do you think this would work? our rules allow it.

We build a 101" metric car that uses the 85 style camaro body, not sure about those body styles you mentioned though.

streching a little bit here or there won't be a prob. i saw one up in the maine somewhere in a magazine once that looked nice. i was just wondering about the effects of the shortened wheelbase on the handling.

that is what im after. will a shorter wheelbase make it turn better. or will this hurt me. or is it not even going to be noticed and not worth the time. i hear alot of people around hear are shortening there cars up to 6"

It will definitely make it harder to drive,if it gets loose it will be harder to save vs a longer wheelbase car.

it seems to me it might be more twicthy and smaller changes would be required to make a diff in handling but you would think on a shorter track that the small wheelbase would corner better than a long wheelbase. you ever see a limo try to make a tight turn. now try that same turn in a festiva. i know this is an extreme but even on a smaller level of a few inches it seems that a little smaller would be better.
