What size radiator will it take to keep a street stock cool?

31x19 is the way to go.

23x18 i think that is right 4 core. never overheated yet with this. but a good shroud is more important than any radiator.

I run a 31 x 19 Northern radiator from Speedway with a tight shroud sealed with duct tape, a whickerbill to scoop air from below the nosepiece, deionized water, Water Wetter to lubricate the system (you can use antifreeze too), no thermostat or restrictor, a high mount overflow tank, a Stewart Stage II pump, and underdrive pulleys, and new heavy-duty flex hoses. Drilled a hole in the water necks on the engine AND radiator side to hook the upper hose spring to keep the hose from collapsing. The nose is closed off and the engine ran 190 F last week at 6000 r's.

Probably the most important step is to purge the air from the system. Warm up the engine for 10 minutes. After shutting off raise the front of the car up to make the radiator cap the highest point of the system and let it cool down. AFTER it cools, open the cap, let the air out, and refill the radiator then. System should be good to go if the motor is not damaged.
