I have a glide with the internal valve body, just put it in gear and go,I run in hi gear.My problem is, 1st gear started slipping pretty bad,had to rev it up quite a bit before it would go,once going seem to be ok shift to hi and go.It has a couple of small oil leaks pan gasket mainly. How much oil is suppose to have with stock pan, would this cause slipping. It started this after it had been run a couple of times out on the track, not much time between runs.Could there be serious problems inside the tranny.

Does it do this when it is hot or all of the time? Fluid level can cause this. With a direct drive setup the trans should hold 3 1/2 - 4 quarts. The internal "dump" styles need good volume from the pump, so if the pump has alot of wear it can also affect it.

Hi, I have the same problem now. Started out ok at the track, rev to 2000 rpm and first would catch. Now, after warm up lapse, first does not work at all. I followed the inst. for band adjustment and fluid is full. Any Ideas? I have to start the car in drive and would like to correct problem. Thanks, Race

i had the same prob only i needed to run low gear. i burned low up twice in about 8 or 9 shows ane ended up going back to a stock glide. the tci was awsome off the corners but the low gear prob was killing my finishes. i never did fig out what the prob was. the fluid was fine the bands were fine and the cooler was plenty big enough. i'm running the same cooler that i ran with the other one and that i had when my metric was in there so i don't think it was the prob. hope you guys get your stuff fig out i think i'll put mine back in when i find a way to keep from burning low up. high worked fine and so did reverse just low burned
