We have only been hitting 170 degrees in the feature's. Running a 355 flat top. With a Rochester 2g carb. A very good cooling system. Carb was jetted with 73's. Last week we dropped to 70's. Will an engine detinate before it pushes temps up toward the hot range? And lasty what is the lower limit we should push with the jets?

detination is usually lack of octain in higher compression engines and to much timing you should be fine with your lower jets i'm running the same setup and i have 71's in it now but have run as low as 68 in the past on 87 octain and currently running 40* advance with no troubles
